Well taken at face value that could be a very good thing. That might mean your tummy is flatter today than it was heretofore and you don't have a beer belly or look pregnant. You've see those guys right? Rotund belly precedes them everywhere they go. It ain't healthy. Do you exercise or just eat less Ele?  My middle is smaller than it was years ago and I can eat whatever I want in whatever quantity. So life has been good to me as I've gotten older. Has it been good to you too? Thank you for your reply! :) This post was edited by RosieG at May 12, 2018 7:13 AM MDT

I was actually talking about the middle of my life, as per your question. I excersice a lot less because I am physically falling apart.

I know that which is why I said "taken at face value". Well at 80 I'm toward the end of mine having left the middle over a decade ago. Thank you for your reply. If you exercise less what kind of exercising didja do when you exercised more if you don't mind my asking?

While in the Navy, I did a lot of weight lifting. Lots of my jobs i spent a lot of time walking. It kept my weight down. Life in general kept me in shape.

Did you do awesome bench presses Ele? I think getting exercise living your life "in general" is really the best way to do it. I don't go to gyms but I walk a lot. Also Jim has a bad back and we go to the 'water store' twice a month and get 15-18 gallons of water at 20 cents a gallon. We have 4 three-gallon bottles (each gallon weighs 8 lbs) and 3 two-gallon jugs. I'm the one that lifts them from the store dolly to the car trunk. When we get home I carry them in to the house. I pick them up daily and pour our water (I do all my cooking including cooking pasta with that bottled water if I'm using water. We only use tap water for washing dishes/clothes/showers). When Tigger was alive he weighed 18 lbs and I lifted him up all the time. As a result because of living my life my upper body strength is very good all things considered. Just a share because you're there and reading it! Thank you for your reply! :) I don't know how I'd do at arm wrestling though. Never tried it!  :)

My right arm is all but useless for lifting as the shoulder is bone to bone in places. I tried starting the lawn mower two weeks ago and I felt as if my arm was going rip off. I do what I can but don't push too hard as I might injure something.

Gosh I'm so sorry to hear that Ele. Bone on bone? No cushiony cartilege there? Nothing they can do for you?  That sounds mighty painful. Are you under doctor's care for it so it might get any better or do you just have to live with it? Thank you for your reply. Gee we'd be really up the creek if I had anything like that. So far so good. As my grandpa used to tell me (old country Armenian accent) as he pounded his chest (I'm serious..not joking) "I strong like bull"! Gee it's been many decades since I heard him say it and watch him do it but I just visualized it and had to laugh. "I strong like bull"! Well the don juan is full of bull. I know. What the he ** is that remark doing in a place like this? Beats me!  :)
