As protest songs go, "for what it's worth" is pretty good. What is YOUR favorite protest song? Why?

Written by Steven Stills and recorded by Buffalo Springfield way back in 1966.

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stay, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

All these decades later it fits the don juan D.C. to a T. Does anyone really know what's going down? How many of you have guns to protect you from an unknown 'the other'?

As to why. The reasons are obvious.

  • Let's not leave out "Ohio", or "Lay Down". Maybe even "The Times They Are  a'Changin" I got a chuckle out of your either false or mistaken interpretation of "For What It's Worth". There's no correlation by any stretch of the imagination between Trump and campus demonstrations against an unwinnable war. You remind me of my father, a warrior in the "cold war" who found a Commie behind every tree. Your mania about Trump causes you to see demons where there are none.
