Locked up. Locked in. No exit. Jails/prisons/mental institution inhabitants live like that. Ever been locked up? What does it FEEL like?

You did BAD things. You took a life. You stole something. You destroyed something/someone. You hurt someone. You be bad. You be NO GOOD BUM. YOU BE SCUM. Okay. You did the crime now do the time. But being locked up for simply trying to keep your child ALIVE and to SURVIVE? There is something not quite right about that. To me. What about thee?

    They are locked up because they entered the country illegally.  They would not be if the simply entered through the actual port of entry and applied for asylum. 
    If I cross anywhere other than the port of entry, I also woild be arrested.
