All is teaching to the test is still happening. Can't they learn from the Danes? I was at a teachers' store yesterday and all the material in there was gearing for testing. I thought, "How sad."
I love school. I complain and stress and strain, but I love school. I was born in school and I am a born student. I was born to the student breed.
So, it isn't sad to me, it is just another challenge no matter how the material is presented, I will learn it my own way anyway.
It would be NICE if teachers knew how to make it fun and challenging at the same time, but it is up to the student to learn and grow no matter how it is presented. Unless it is so drear that no one can stay awake. That is why I never went to law school.
They have to teach to the bottom half of the class, so the top half gets bored and frustrated sometimes, then they diagnose the children with more intellect with a mental disorder, most often ADHD along with something else so they can get two drugs in the kid and get her in the bottom half of students. I have no formal resource, I've just observed the trend in recent years.
