Because they keep trying to convince themselves they ARE worthwhile, they ARE of value, they ARE important. The louder and noisier and filled with braggadocio they are the bigger the hole within them grows and it is a vicious cycle. A tell that is undeniable. I wonder whom we know who fits that description?
