When you are trusted with someone's secrets and the relationship sours do you divulge them to exact revenge or keep them secret forever?

OK I am not into exacting revenge at all because all that accomplishes is wasting energy and pulling us more into the drama.  Which is why I really have to pity all the poor women who obviously don't have lives of their own who "tell all" in exchange for a few dollars and a little notoriety.
