When good is unavailable do you settle for less bad? Why?

That really depends upon what it is we are talking about.  If it is something I need, then yes.  If it is not...that could depend upon various factors.  For example, I need sustenance, but if my food of choice is unavailble, I will settle for less than I desire.  Now when it comes to TV, I finally got to the point that there wasn't anything I found worthy of watching.  Rather than "settle" for what was offered, I shut the damn thing off.  There are other things that fall somewhere in between "all or nothing", and as I said, are dependent upon various factors.

No.  I don't choose between the evil of two lessers.  If that is my only option, I don't play.

Rosie, never. This is the excuse that people will use to vote Hillary, I think it's a shame and a travesty that anyone pick the best of two evils when they don't have to. A copout. But ultimately you bear responsibility for your vote and outcome of that vote, sleep with the results, not for this clear conscience Surfdog. Whoa!!!
