Does it amuse you when a big old fat black pot calls a small kettle black? How much?

The "reasons" TGITWH stripped Brennan of his Security Clearance is as follows:

He(Brennan) showed "erratic conduct and behavior"

He(Brennan) "has a history that calls into question his OBJECTIVITY AND CREDIBILITY"

"Mr. Brennan has recently leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with access to highly sensitive information to make a series of UNFOUNDED AND OUTRAGEOUS ALLEGATIONS---WILD OUTBURSTS ON THE INTERNET AND TELEVISION..."

You do see the humor here do you not? Apparently TGITWH has no clue that he is describing himself to a T. Whoever wrote it also is rather obtuse unless it was a Purposeful attempt at making TGITWH look even more foolish than he already is. Well it worked. Kudos to the author of that little self-describing picturesque takedown. Clearly comprehending what he reads/says/hears is not the strong suit of TGITWH.

To keep their clearance it states they are supposed to behave as an intelligence officer. An intelligence officer does not become a political pundit for news networks.

I still say once you leave your job you should no longer have a clearance. If for some reason the current member needs assistance then it can be reinstated.

Although he has the right to strip security clearances, he seems to only do it to those who are "against" him.  To an outside observer, this looks like somewhat dictatorial.

I agree with 'my2cents' - once  a person leaves the job, they should no longer have a clearance.

Here's the caveat. These folks have YEARS of experience in the intellilence field. Sometimes the current holders of those jobs WANT these folks to come in and use them for sounding boards. Without their security clearances that cannot happen. So the many decades of expertise goes down the tubes and is flushed away with nary a thought to what might have gleaned from the experience of others. I think that is quite stupid dumb and shortsighted and robs us of knowledge and wisom we might otherwise have benefitted from. So I disagree with thee and they backer uppers. BIGLY. So shoot me! Thank you for your reply Shuhak!

Whether they keep their clearance or not is immaterial.  He's using his "authority" as a "punishment" or a way of getting back at someone.  And to publically put others "on notice"?  ("if you don't do as I want then I'm going to hurt you").   This is something aspiring dictators do.  How to de a dictator  -get rid of any and all opposition, malign and discredit any you cannot "dispose of" (governmental or civilian), and restrict as much power to self as possible.  Sound familiar??

No. It is VERY MATERIAL. Without the clearance they cannot be brought in to intelligence briefings and asked their opinion Shuhak. That is the entire point that TGITWH doesn't understand. KEEPING THEIR CLEARANCE IS VERY MATERIAL and has always been the way things were. Thank you for your reply.

OK. I am confused so I shall move on. You say they should lose their security clearances when they leave. I outlined to you why I disagree with you very bigly. If you find no merit in my views that's fine with me. We can't agree always on everything. :) This post was edited by RosieG at August 17, 2018 8:56 AM MDT

Forgive me if I came across as uncaring.  That was never my intent.  I understand your viewpoint and I find it quite valid.  True, we can't agree on everything.

There is nothing to forgive m'dear. I think we get along JUST GREAT. The proof of that is that we can disagree and not get angry or upset or insulting. I don't know why everyone isn't like that but I'm glad we are! Thank you for your reply Shuhak. Rest assured if I were ever offended/upset by anything you said you would be the second one to know. I'd be the first! It's very kind of you to go the extra mile though. I appreciate it! :):):)
