  • We're starting to lose so many of those artists that were a product of raw talent that gave interpretation to native influences and environment. Part of the excitement of these performers were the way they had woven styles together that were just a part of their upbringing and experience. Not so much a created sound packaged by the industry. These folks had an originality of their own with its own energy and expression.

You know DA Jim and I often talk about that very thing. In all of the performing arts. Where are the Fred Astaires and Gene Kellys? Where are the Ella Fitzgeralds and Aretha Franklins? Movies aren't as enjoyable. Music takes some getting used to and isn't always hummable. TV shows and books and plays are now an acquired taste. Maybe it's just the normal evolution and we older folks who remember way back when miss whom we were then? I dunno. We often retreat to Turner Classic Movies when the world is too much with us. Or the History Channel or the Science Channel. Now that's a place that one can get excited and energized and learn things that are worth learning. "We have nothing to fear but fear itself". "Do not ask what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country" .  What do we have today? "NO COLLUSION. LOCK HER UP. FAKE NEWS. WITCH HUNT.The media is the enemy of the people. Intelligence agents are no dam* good. Russia is our pal. I am the only one who fix it. Don't believe what you read or hear".  I'm gonna ask.Sheesh. Thank you for your reply!
