Aretha was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1942 and moved to Detroit when she was 4 because her minister father got a "gig" there as minister of a local church. I did not know that we shared that space at different times in our lives though. It's nice. However faint the connection it kinda warms my heart. Maybe she and I walked down the same streets in Detroit at different times. SIGH.
