There will be many speakers at Republican Senator McCain's funeral. At his request, at least two of them will be Dems. Typical?

In death, as in life, John McCain reached across the aisle. He specifically asked Joe  Biden (former vice-president) and Barack Obama (former president) to speak. Both of whom are definite Democrats. There may be others too. He wanted Joe Lieberman to be his vice-president when he ran for the office of president but for some reason he was not allowed to have whom he wanted and so he got stuck with Sarah Palin. I don't know if he would have won with Joe Lieberman but Sarah was a definite albatross and sunk him. Joe Lieberman became a good friend of McCain's long ago. Lieberman used to be a Democrat. I don't know what his political affiliations are today. I wonder if there is any Republican who will reach across the aisle and work with a Democrat in any capacity ever again? I know when George W. Bush was prez he appointed Bill Clinton(DEM) and his dad, George H.W. Bush(GOP) to work together on various projects and thus Bill Clinton and George H.W. Bush became very good friends. Politics aside. Political views notwithstanding. I don't know if that will ever happen again. But that it did once upon a time is good to know. Isn't it? Once upon a time. SIGH
