A potential problem exists for which there is a solution. There are some who demonize the problem AND THE SOLUTION. Why?

The problem is abortion
The solution is birth control

The anti-both abortion and the use of birth control abhor abortion and abhor the use of birth control. How does that make sense to anyone who relies on reason and logic to arrive at coherent cogent conclusions?

Hard to believe there are still wannabe-Puritans among us who think abstinence is a realistic expectation. Despite the fact it has not been realistic, ...frankly,...ever.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at September 13, 2018 4:40 AM MDT

"Just say no!" Oh wait that was Nancy Reagan's solution to the drug problem. Wasn't very effective. I don't know what makes some folks more susceptible to drug addiction than others. Some kind of physical/psychological defect? Why would people do what they know could kill them? Smoking for instance . Are those "drives" as strong as the drive for sex? I dunno DB. I'm a very simple person. I go by what makes sense to me. If there is a problem which happens to have a very simple solution why not take advantage of it? You see embers burning. Do you walk away or douse them to ensure that no fire results? I'm never gonna understand folks who rail at things they could prevent if they just used common sense. Thank you for your reply DB! :)
