The hostess doesn't want 25 salads or vegetable dishes or desserts so order and planning is required in advance to avert chaos. You are asked to be there at a specific time. Are you there on time with the category dish requested or do you show up late with something you wanted to make without notifying the hostess because no one is going to tell you what to do, when to show up, what to wear or how to act. Others are ideal guests and comply with the requests and stay within the lines. I wonder why that is?
