The same basic crap happens again and again and again, year after years, generation after generation... only the names change.
Hatred has existed for thousands of years. Injustice has existed for thousands of years. Perverts have been around for thousands of years. Oppressive governments, foolish leaders, greed, lies, egotists, slavery, persecutions, the rich oppressing the poor, wars, protesters, gender inequality, rape, torture ... all have been around since the beginning of time. Oh, it may have been called different names over the years, but the basics of it hasn't changed. History shows this to be true. No matter how "advanced" we think we are (computers, automobiles, jet planes, smart houses, cell phones) we are still greedy, selfish, and lustful, just like all those who've lived before us. We like to think of ourselves as being "civilized", but we aren't. Our "ancestors" fought wars with clubs and swords. We fight them with planes,bombs and tanks. We pride ourselves on our "superior" intelligence, yet we can't figure out how some artifacts we find, from cultures thousands of years old, function. (how'd they do that?) Centuries from now people may find artifacts from this era and wonder how those primitive people ever managed to created it. After all, they weren't nearly as advanced and civilized as they are now.
Human nature will never change. No matter how "smart" we become, our thirst for power, wealth, and sex dominates our lives. And so the circle continues.
((hugs)) Why the hugs? Because your explanation, though terribly depressing, is excellent m'dear. Perfect. I get it. All the phony baloney hi-falutin' stuff we create doesn't change whom we are and never will. We are the same savages we always were only the coating is a little shinier. We will never change. Some of us (thee and me and our "ilk") find very sad. Others celebrate it, enjoy, thrive on it! Okay. We move ahead because we're curious to discover what's there. Initially kidding ourselves that is wondrous fair and better. It isn't better. It's just different. The bullies are in control. The liars and greed folks will always win because the folks who are honest and play fair have the deck stacked against them and always will. Here's question I'm gonna ask. Why are so many crappy greedy scummy crumbumbs? Why are some folks good and care about others and fight injustice? The more answers we get the more questions they cause. Endless.
