Male dominance has asserted its power since the beginning of time. Will the #METOO movement change that or is it just a blip/a fad?

I do not know how many actually believe women are their equals and how many just pay lip service to it because they think that is what they should appear to believe. Do you?  It takes a very secure man to acknowlege a woman as his equal at least intellectually. About physical strength most men are stronger than women I think but of course there are exceptions to that.
