Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» Most folks know when they've "done good" or "done bad". They don't need others to point it out. Does lying about the bad ever bother them?
Thank you for your reply Pf and the compliment. I appreciate both. Of course we humans can spin/rationalize/justify anything we put our minds to but I do wonder if occasionally a conscience bulls its way through and someone feels guilty if only momentarily. Happy Tuesday! :)
I don't lie because I cannot pull it off . Just as when I play penny ante poker with family/friends they fold when I have a good hand. Not a good actress . No poker face. Tried it when I was a kid and never was convincing. I tend to believe people which puts me at a definite disadvantage but we are whom we are and sometimes we take hits for it. SIGH. Thank you for your additional comment Pf! :)
Since this is a veiled reference to the Kavanaugh mess, I'll say up front that I'm not an advocate of lying, whether it's about the good times or the bad. We have to take into consideration that we're dealing with Congressional Democrats and the lunatic fringe they faithfully represent. These people are professional liars and back stabbers. Maybe in this life one has to fight fire with fire because the Feinsteins and the Blumenthals of this world won't have it any other way.
On the other hand, we're also dealing with Congressional Republicans who are rejecting traditional principled conservatism and embracing Trump and all the misogyny, bigotry, and mistrust of others that he stands for. Did you listen to Kavanaugh, a sitting, supposedly principled and fair-minded appellate judge, whine about a Democratic, Clinton-engineered conspiracy and disrespectfully address Senator Klobuchar? No matter what he's done or hasn't done, nobody who is capable of coming unhinged like that needs to be sitting on the SCOTUS bench.
