Is there any connection/correlation between those who support Donald Trump and those who support Ryan Lochte? Is it stricktly a politically partisan view with no raison d'etre to support it? Why?

I have not noticed a direct link with Trump supporters and those supporting Lochte.  

I am not supporting Lochte, I have said he and the others should pay for whatever (if any) damage they did to the station. 

I am also supporting that the  security people who pointed a gun and demanded money be called what they are armed robbers.
