There have been a few instances of Rabbis being accused of being pedophiles, but it doesn't happen often and I don't believe it's as widespread as what had been going on in the Catholic Church.
Thank you for your reply. I immediately thought of Woody Allen! Go figger! It seems that the Catholic church provides cover for the evil found in its priests. Why that is I do not know nor can I guess. SIGH.
Thank you for the link tom. I clicked on it and read it. Here's the thing. We put priests and other clergy up on a pedestal and think they are "better" than we are. We go to them for counsel and comfort. When we discover they either engage in evil or provide cover for evildoers we get very angry and upset and in fact furious. I think pedophiles are drawn to the Catholic church because they know it will provide a safe haven for them. They will be protected. Why that is so I shall never know. When you exalt people you put your faith and trust in them. When they use that very faith and trust to harm you It can be shattering. I thought this was all over and done with decades ago and then this thing in Pennsylvania came up and pedophilia is still alive and well and being supported. How many scandals will it take to eliminate it completely? Politics is alive and well in the Catholic church . Is also alive and well in every religion? I don't know but it sucks!
