How can you "look up to" a leader who is beneath you morally/ethically? Shouldn't we elect those who are lookuptoable?

I can't understand your desire inflate leadership.  A leader is simply someone who has followers.  We need not follow any leader if we choose not to or if we would rather follow anyone else.   If you think we should be coerced into following a particular leader then that bypasses personal choice and becomes totalitarianism.
