Why does don lie mindlessly? What does he gain from it? Why do I ask?

The don says he doesn't know Matt Whitaker now. However

On  October 11 when asked by one of the hosts of Fox & Friends  the john  of don said
"I can  tell you Matt Whitaker's a great guy. I mean I know Matt Whitaker".

Another lie is no big deal since he does it all the time. What is a big deal is the WHY?

Anyway know the why of this particular lie? Anyone?

I appears that he just can't help himself.  Lying comes to him as naturally as breathing.  If his mouth is open, he's lying.  Happy Friday, Rosie. :)

And as I asked Rosie, are you privy to all private and other information so that you know exactly when he's lying and when he isn't?

Of course I'm not privy to all of his private conversations.  My comment relates to those he makes public.

Usually you lie to cover your a** because you did something wrong. But lying for its own sake? What is the point of that? Thank you for your reply L and Happy Friday! :)

It doesn't seem that there is a point to lying unnecessarily, but in Trump's case, I fear he is unable to tell the truth - even when it's something in his favor.

It's the weirdest thing. If he does it purposely just to keep folks talking about him or if he does it automatically because he simply can't help it matters not. The effect is the same. I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply L and Happy Saturday! :)

You're right - the bottom line is it's still lying.  Happy Saturday. :)

OK, I'll bite. Why do you ask? And certainly you are privy, aren't you, to all private and other information so that you know exactly when he's lying and when he isn't? If you can't answer that in the affirmative, then this might be an uninformed question. You would NEVER ask an uninformed question, would you Rosie? And lest I forget, happy Friday to thee!
