We still can be friends if we put aside our differences and do not dwell upon them. But lately - the last 15 years - political differences have not been minor and just about matters of emphasis but rather have called into question our whole system of government and life. So many of us who grew up with a more traditional view of personal responsibility in all things now find our lives threatened by those who wish to change to a government-centered responsibility which we view as a loss of our freedoms.
