Sometimes it was painful. There was a story arc about an empath and I think it was on Star Trek. She felt the pain and the sadness of others. Of course just being able to read minds at a distance wouldn't be painful but you probably would not feel any emotion at all. Well maybe SHOCK at what some folks were thinking. If someone has dream of things you could never dream yourself woldn't it be nice to share them? Or those who hear melodies inside their heads? Do you hear melodies too? Musicians do I'm sure. Something best left in The Twilight Zone?
