Ever hear the Old Wive's Tale "you can't teach an old dawg new tricks"? Thought it wasn't true! You too?
But when the OLD DAWG thinks he knows all the trick there and no one can teach him anything because he knows everything? Well he**'s bells it's true folks! Yep.
You can. You can teach anything to anyone who is ready.
Many never are. But to just dismiss anyone out of hand and say they won't do it because they are old?
You don't know until you try. The alternative is to walk away. NOT A WRONG SOLUTION at all. Or just accept the fact.
But I would at least make the attempt. You never know. We need everyone on the planet. Not just a few that we like. We need all of us to wake up to the fact that we all matter and we are all important.
Old dog or not. Anyone can awaken. Many do so on their deathbeds and surrender in peace.
It has always been true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Sometimes it is because the old tricks suffice. It is no different than trying to teach a young, indoctrinated and programmed individual the truth about practically everything.
