Well, I'm not sure he's the terrific businessman he fancies himself.  After all, he has declared bankruptcy a number of times and let's face it, how many casinos have gone bust?  Trump takes it as a personal affront that GM is closing plants, laying off workers and moving some of its production to their Mexico plants because Trump promised that he would bring back industry to Ohio and it isn't turning out that way.  A lot of those yokels who believed his snake oil schtick are now going to be on the unemployment line.  If they had done their due diligence and realized what kind of businessman he wasn't, maybe they wouldn't have voted for him.  Too bad the rest of us have to suffer for their folly.

Thank you for your thoughtful and informative reply L. I read that GM will be able to save something like 6 BILLION dollars by 2020 by making those changes. The stock prices shot up on that news. Stockholders are very happy. Once again the prez has egg on his face put their by his own hand. He is very good be his worst enemy. His mouth is his morta enemy. I'm gonna ask. :)

GM is doing what any publicly held company would do.  It's main responsibility is to it's shareholders - not Donald Trump.  It isn't even clear whether rump can single out one company availing itself of incentives under a Congressional Act, nor is it clear that he could punish ALL companies without the approval of Congress, but that doesn't stop him from running his electric tweet machine or his mouth.

Exactly L. What "intelligent" businessman would not want to save SIX  BILLION DOLLARS by adjusting it's company to fit into what is coming? Why keep living in a past that will disappear? Thank you for your reply! :)

Trump himself would do that if he were in GM's shoes.  Or, maybe not since he's the King of Bankruptcy.  He would probably raid the company's treasury and declare bankruptcy.  Happy Friday. :)
