Why do people CHEAT? No-brainer. Because they know they don't have the 'right stuff" to win/achieve anything honorably. 3rd rate losers?

That's also why people lie. Because they are third rate second class wannabes whose only path to "success" is by lying.

Why is being successful and being a "winner" so seductively essential that it is worth sacrificing one's integrity/ honor?

    That's it pretty much.  What you just said.

    People who cheat tell themselves that they are a lot more clever than those of us who sweat and slave to learn something of value.    The thing these mental geniuses neglect to consider, is that they are cheating themselves of the knowledge it takes not to cheat.

    They are, in effect, cultivating how to be a moron.

    Cheaters and liars label themselves early on as losers. They know they are "less than" intellectually or talent-wise so they immediately set about to engage in deceit. I think living life knowing you are inadequate must be pretty grim. I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply Sharon! :)
