Nope. Once upon a time, we thought gravity was constant. Now we know that it is variable. Thus why we don't call scientific discoveries "Laws" anymore, but "Theories". (not to be confused with non-scientific "theories")
Maybe one day we'll even discover there are exceptions to the Law of Entropy.
But I think it would be pretty difficult to reverse what we know as Scientific Laws.
Very cute of you to toss in entropy Walt. I appreciate that a lot! Do you think we've barely touched the tip of that iceberg known as REALITY? How far down beneath the water d'ya think we'll hafta go to know? Deep as the Marianas Trench deep? Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday to thee/thy! :)
I like the latest theory that our reality is possible just a highly advanced computer simulation. They even what type of thing could prove it, if it happened.
My question is ... what would the people observing the program do, if we found out it was a simulation? Wouldn't that ruin the purpose of the simulation / experiment? Would they reset the computer? Or would they allow it to continue, just out of curiosity what we would do with the knowledge?
Or are most of us NPCs in a computer game? If so, who are the player-controlled characters?
((hugs)) That's for all the thought-provoking questions. Remember Matrix? Also did you see that movie about Jim Carey's life being a TV show and all the characters in it were actors and he never knew until he was an adult with a wife and a life? What did he do? I think he walked out of the frane and into the real world. There was a Twilight Zone episode where a couple find themselves in a deserted town. With some investigation they find that everything is fake. Fake grass. Fake lawn. Far away they hear a kind of noise. A dark shadow looms overhead. The camera pulls back and you see they are miniature "toys" in a fake place and a very large child reaches down to move them around. Her dad picked up these toys when he was visiting a different planet and brought them home for her to play with! It could be all of the above. We could all be test tube specimens set up to research different things. Hate could just be a device "they" invented to see how we would handle it. We've handled it very badly. Between thee and me I cannot really comprehend how a "big bang" culminated in all there is today. No intelligent design? No plan? I'm not saying it is God. I'm not saying it isn't. I am saying that something else is in the mix and as yet we don't know for sure what that is or even whether its friendly or hostile. Thank you for your reply. I'll get back to you on those answers. What are NPCs? Oh if it were a simulation and we found out surely the folks who set it up would erase our memories and make us unaware once again. Right?

If we are in a computer simulation ... maybe the "afterlife" is our character being transferred to another simulation. Like how many of our computer games carry over characters that were either popular or necessary to the story arc ... and allow the player to transfer their character from the "old" game to the "new" one.
Interesting you should ask. I have started to doubt Newton's Third Law of Motion, because of the need to create virtual forces. An example is centripetal force, which is simply a force aimed toward the center of revolution by an object on a curved path. The Third Law states that for any force there must be an equal and opposite force. Centrifugal force is a virtual force that meets that criterion. Another is pushing against a wall. If you do, the wall has to push back. To me, that is also a virtual force. Someday the Laws of Physics may change, but it is unlikely they will reverse.
HELP! How does an inanimate object like a wall "push back" Ele? Thank you for your thoughtful and information-filled reply and Happy Tuesday to you m'dear.
I am logical Sharon and I always search for the reason. Which is why I always ask WHY? Now in my world not knowing a reason doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It is one of two things. We have not evolved to the point of being able to understand it OR we never shall access it. For example we live in a world of 3 dimensions. If there are 10 of them well what do you suppose exists in those other 7? I think answers exist and mysteries are solved except that we may never be able to access them. Did I tell you about the scifi book I read years ago titled FLATLAND? It is about two-dimensional creatures living in a 3-dimensional world and how they perceive it. The drawings are mind-bending. Those 2-dimensional beings WILL NEVER see all that is there. Well maybe that is what is going on with us. We are inadequately equipped to access the entire world and so we see only a portion of it. The rest we ascribe to miracles or mysteries. Just a thought. Thank you for your reply Sharon! :)
I can believe in 5 dimensions ... adding time and space. You would have to exist simultaneously at multiple "planes" in time and space ... just as you exist at multiple "planes" in our 3D ... to "know" those dimensions.
