I haven't heard that term in a while. It seems they now use the term "Sustainable Energy". Both terms mean the source of energy can be replaced ... as opposed to coal, gas, and oil.
Technically, I guess nuclear power is "unsustainable", since there's a limited amount of material available ... but it lasts so long, it's kinda moot. Especially if we recycle the "spent" material that is still radioactive.
Here's what "sustainable" means to me. Keeping it going. Since it can never not keep going it seems silly to refer to it as such. I'm not purposely trying to be dense Walt. If it cannot be destroyed ever isn't sustainable meaningless? SIGH. Thank you for your reply! I know. It's complicated! :(
More and more I see more and more solar panels on house roofs. They are not the same in number. Some have 5 some have 12 some have 10. Looks weird but I expect looks are not what matter. I guess 4 billion years is a tolerable good amount of time so we shall worry not presently. Isn't the sun more dependable than the wind? I see those windmills standing in line in deserts. Some are very still and some are going at a furious pace depending upon which direction the wind comes from. That all gets stored up somewhere as energy and then is tapped when needed. Does it ever dissipate while stored? Are the containers AIR TIGHT with no leakage? Thank you for your reply Ele and Happy Tuesday! :)
