Fighting in wars. Taking lives and seeing the lives of friends taken. It has to hurt our vets very deeply. What does America owe its vets?

How do you ever repay anyone who puts his life on the line for you and is damaged physically psychically emotionally mentally forever? How do you give them anything less than the best you can and if they fall between the cracks how can we turn away and do nothing?

    Respect.

Something the PIG IN OFFICE reserves only for himself.

Sigh. I asked a question a couple of days ago Sharon about the suicide rate of vets increasing. In 2016 the suicide rate was 1.5 times that of non-vets and I expect that figure is higher now. So the potential for losing your life for your country is true even of those who don't die on the battlefields. The experience takes away whom they were and replaces that with someone they probably don't recognize. So sad. But $5 billion to build a wall  is what da prez thinks is worthy of shutting down the gubment for. I do not get it. Thank you for your reply and Happy Saturday! :)

We owe them everything.  Without them, we would not be free.  We owe them the best health and mental care available.  To know that there are so many veterans homeless and on the street is painful to think about.  No one, especially a veteran should be in that situation.

Da prez shuts down the gubment for  $5 billion to build a wall. I wonder how much help to our vets  a $5 billion investment in health care would be to them? I guess we'll never know because da prez will always be defined by a wall that will never be built. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Saturday!:)

I agree with you.  As much as I didn't want to see the government shut down, I was really hoping the Democrats wouldn't cave.  At some point, Congress is going to have to sit down with Trump and they are going to have to hash out some compromise.  Trump is such a moron that he doesn't even want to admit that his own party does not want to give him that money.  Then again, no one I know ever considered Trump smart.

It will wind up being a bunch of fence posts held together with string.  But, it will be a very, very beautiful color string.
