Everyone (almost) despises him, is out to get/destroy him. Paranoid if untrue and true if true. What else could it be? Yea/nay/OR?

To paraphrase Kurt Cobain:

Just because everyone hates your guts, does not mean you are not also a paranoid moron.

One does not exclude the other.

His line actually was "Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you".  But this follows the same line of reasoning.
