People are very different individually than they are collectively. Why do crowds/mobs bring out the WORST in people and not the BEST?

LOCK HER UP! Cheering crowds robotically chant it repeatedly again and again and again and again. THEY NEVER TIRE OF IT . I wonder how many of those berserk attendees shout it as they are walking down the street all alone on their own? LOCK HER UP! They don't. They are cowardly individually and so "brave" collectively. Sham. Fake. Phony. Pretenders. Sheesh.
