If you put something in quotation marks it means you are quoting the work of others and do not take credit for it. Do you always do so?

When you lift info verbatim from other sources do you give the source or circumstance and enclose in quotation marks? Why?

Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Depending on where I am posting/writing and whom I am posting/writing to/for.  I used to include links a lot but most people here don't bother with them so I don't unless I think I will want it later myself.

I know I overuse quotation marks and sometimes use them quite incorrectly as I am sure with your background you have noticed.  I use them more to call attention to something.

Citing sources is more an academic exercise and who has the time or the expertise to do that in real life?  After all most everything that has been written or said is only recycling of what someone has already written or said before! How much is ever truly original?  Very little or none at all.
