What MIGHT HAVE BEEN we shall never know. The lives of the caged/kennelled/tent citied kids are deformed. What might they have contributed?

Had they been allowed to live "normal" lives which ones among them might have contributed great things to the world? Can you say none of them with any assurance? Maybe a cure for cancer? You don't know. You can't know. And so the puppet boy has done the job he was installed to do. Destroy everything he can get his hands on as fast as he can. Good job puppet.

    What would you have us do? The laws do not allow families to be housed together. The laws do not even treat the family as a unit in the asylum cases. 
    Do we just release people into the country? It needs to be fixed. Those who come as family units need to be housed together. Unless the parents are criminals then they need to be deported and the children deported to another member of their family. And their immigration case needs to be for the family unit not individuals within the family. We need a lot more judges as well so it does not take years. Or simply remove the protection for illegals who are "other than Mexican".

    If the parent is arrested....they will be separated until the parent's legal issues are resolved. Same as a citizen would be from their children. We do not house children with criminals.

    So do we house the children in the jail with the parents? We are talking about criminals not just illegal immigration crimes.
    I not cherry picking. We do not put children in jail with adults even if the adult criminals are their parents.

    There are 2500 or more children still in cages.  Are you telling me that we know for a fact that all of their parents are criminals?  When would we have had time to make that determination?

    Do you have a link saying there are still 2500 children still separated from their families in custody? I cannot find a current number. I can find approx 2500 from summer 2018. But pretty much all of those have been reunited with the exception of some criminal parents and some who were not actually the parents at all. (Either exploiting our laws or worst possible human trafficking)

    The news has reported that the government doesn't have any idea how many kids are still in captivity.  Pretty disgusting, if you ask me, for a country that espouses such high values.

    I know they reported late last year that there are over 14,000 in gov custody but not because of family separations but these are children who were sent across the border without their parents. That is not the USA fault. That is their parent's fault. If they wanted their child to have a better life without them in the US, why not place them for adoption in the US? What kind of parent sends their child alone on such a dangerous trip. A trip where they will more likely than not be raped and possibly be caught by traffickers. Again, this is not the USA's fault unless you consider the fact that the border is not secure thereby creating an incentive for these people to try to come or send their children.     What kind of parent?  Ones that are absolutely desperate - the same desperation that caused the Jews to give up their children during the Holocaust to people who would bring them to safer countries.

    Then why give them to gangs and smugglers who they know are going to abuse them? Put them up for adoption in the US.

    Because that is the only way to get them out of the country.  Put them up for adoption in the U.S.?  You mean like put them on Craig's list or eBay?  Maybe they can put them up on Amazon.  I doubt you realize how ridiculous that sounds.

    People adopt children from other countries all the time. I am sure there are legit adoption agencies available.  
    I would never give my child to someone I know who is going to abuse them.

    People who give their children to coyotes don't think their children will be abused.  You are not talking about well-educated people who do this.  Most people would not give their child to someone who would abuse them, so maybe you should consider just how desperate these mothers are and thank your lucky stars you aren't one of them.

    The parents are putting the daughters on birth control before they send them...they know they will likely be abused.

    It has been reported on by the news. Any female possible to get pregnant are told to get on Birth Control.

    So, I will reiterate:  maybe you should consider just how desperate these mothers are if they're doing this and then they are further "assaulted" by being housed in cages.  Aren't we the great humanitarians?

    Two extremes are clashing---people who have decided that any life living in the US is the only life better than one of suffering and possible death in other countries (or even on the way to the US).

    And we don't have a system in place to deal with the large numbers of people who feel that way---and I don't have an answer offhand.  [Sort of like during the Cuban Missile Crisis when the Kennedy's (john and Bobby) knew more of what not to do than than what to do.]
