They don't hate it ... but they require you to pay taxes on it, just as you would for cash transactions. Sure, cashless transactions are more difficult to track - but if the IRS wants to, they'll track it. And then they'll rack up fines and penalties for you to pay. LOL
It all depends on how much they want to get you. Or if you tick off the wrong person. It's not uncommon for the IRS to be used to go after political enemies.
Proof? HA! The tax codes are so complex that it's virtually impossible NOT to run afoul of them. If they want you, they'll get you on something.
