They don't hate it ... but they require you to pay taxes on it, just as you would for cash transactions.
Sure, cashless transactions are more difficult to track - but if the IRS wants to, they'll track it.
And then they'll rack up fines and penalties for you to pay.  LOL

It all depends on how much they want to get you.
Or if you tick off the wrong person.  It's not uncommon for the IRS to be used to go after political enemies.

    Proof?  HA!
The tax codes are so complex that it's virtually impossible NOT to run afoul of them.
If they want you, they'll get you on something. This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at February 8, 2019 5:08 PM MST

I worked for my friend at his driving range for 8 weeks free. He wired my basement, installed a 200 amp box and a new input wire bundle. He is a certified electrician. Fair trade.

They don't hate it; they tax.

Maybe the don't like the ones they can't prove or don't have time or resources to track.

I initially thought I read bar-tended. And they probably do hate bar tenders because they can't get their dirty hands on those dirty tip bills.

I grew up in a rural area on a working ranch, so yes we have.  You know that was all legal.

Half of my career these days is devoted to the Mid East and Africa, of course we barter.  Barter is not bribery BTW

Why would you EVEN tell them.  They don't care at all as long as they don't have to do any work to deal with it.
