Many in the military agree with his ideals of freedom , individual effort, and personal responsibility, or other things.  Others simply respect him as head of the armed forces because they are taught to behave that way and it is a point of honor for them.

Just WHAT are his ideals of ANYTHING?

That is not an answer.   He has no personal responsibility.  He has proven again and again that he has zero respect for any military leadership.  He picks our enemies,  Kim Jong Un and Putin over our decorated four star generals and above.

You are just making noise.  Like him.  With nothing to back it up.  I have plenty to back it up, including Mueller's probe of his backing the Russians.

Only top-ranking Generals and Admirals must make the appearance of being pro Trump, although any commissioned officer may be asked to resign if they publicly say anything ill of him. Nobody cares what the enlisteds say. I would assume many, if not most of them, aren't. This post was edited by Element 99 at February 20, 2019 12:48 PM MST

When a President is this corrupt, there has to be a way to defend oneself when one has a position of military power.

When Obama became President, a top-ranking UN General called him some names. He was promptly asked to retire.

It is a Kiss of Death for any lifer in the Military to publicly express a political view.  Not only may one get riffed, they may be subject to Courts Martial and time in Levenworth.  In my time in the Corps, very few if any knew my political beliefs.

You are sworn to support and defend the Constitution, not the politician.  When Obama was President I would estimate 60-70 percent despised the man.  Currently I would think the numbers are similar.

I can't even keep track of all the players, but there is a new guy on the block today.  (of course) VICTIM: DAN COATES

This man actually had the nerve to say that Kim Jong Un is not dismantling anything and intends to keep on nuking till the cows come home if necessary.

I think it would be very interesting to see why Trump defends Kim Jong Un.   He publicly declared that he believes Kim Jong Un is being faithful to the tryst he and Trump made.  He believes that Kim Jong Un is dismantling his arsenal of bombs because PUTIN said so. Our defense is wrong according to TRUMP, but PUTIN is correct and he trusts Putin.  CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS????????????????

He is still officiating and not in jail.  He said this.  I cannot believe he is not in jail.

I think it would be interesting to see how long Kim Jong Un and Putin put up this show so that they can both come down on the USA big time.  And Trump.  Big Time.

This is not a game Archer.   This is the world stage being played by three crooks. The stupidest of the 3 is the leader of the USA.  So, the generals, et. al., should not be looking at their military careers right now, but looking at the end of the world as we know it.

    RIGHT NOW.

Agreed it is not a game, however that was not the question you asked.  If you were in the Military under my command, for this public of a Statement I would ask for your resignation to avoid charges. Failing to resign would force me to prefer charges and I would have you Brigged

Not a lot either you or I can do about until the polls open next year.  We do not like what he is doing however he has done nothing impeachable or in the realm of the 25th amendment This post was edited by Archerchef at February 20, 2019 12:48 PM MST

Beyond the obvious, which, if stated, would likely result in this reply being deleted, I still wonder (often aloud) why any sentient person remains Pro-Trump.  This post was edited by Don Barzini at February 20, 2019 12:01 PM MST

  • Some are, some aren't.  I do know several Vets and they are very much anti-Trump!  He has no clue about what he has been given to command.  As with all other government entities .. he feels they are they to support and glorify HIM.  Very upsetting that someone that self-centered would be given such power.

One of my family members is a veteran and is pro-Trump. He's also openly a racist.

I also ran into a border patrol agent on a dating site. Also pro-Trump. He was ticked about how agents get a bad rap and are constantly mistreated/ abused by people slipping into the country and how the general public treats them like crap for doing their jobs. That I understood and could feel sympathetic to. At the same time, he also said he has no compassion for the immigrants. None. I think he even called them "animals." I'm pretty sure he was a sociopath. I only talked to him the one time. Once I realized what his world views were like and how little he cared about human life, I wished him the best in life and move on. But, yeah. If he's representative of our agents.... scary stuff.

Anyway, I recognize not all Trump supporters are this way. Some are very good people. (This almost feels like Trump's speech on how Mexicans are murderers and rapists, but some, he imagines, are good people too...) But, yeah. No. I haven't met any people in the military or who serve(d) in a similar capacity who support Trump and don't have traits that bother me.
