Some folks understand/grasp/comprehend your intentions and respond accordingly to your questions. Others are way off base. Why?

I don't understand how it is that some people understand PRECISELY what you mean and others never get a grip on it. Same words. Different comprehension. It's almost as if you speak a different language.  Perplexing.
