Is it only WHITES who label those who talk about racism as RACIST or do African Americans do so too?
How do you fix something that's broken if you don't admit the break and don't find any tools or parts with which to do the repairs? Just leave it broken? Is that better than admitting it and fixing it? WHY?
Why would anyone wish to break something just to say it is "broken"? Nothing is "broken" then everything is just fine and where are all your "victims" going to come from? "Broken" sells. "Broken" gets votes.
I would say it depends on how one talks about racism.
For example: To say that blacks need special treatment to make up for past racism, IS racist. Because it is based purely on the color of skin. On the other hand, if you target that "special treatment" towards people based on economic status, would NOT be racist. Because even if the majority of economically deprived people are black, not all are (and not all blacks are economically deprived).
Another example: If we are going to pay reparations to blacks because of slavery - what about all the other people who were enslaved? Some Native/Indigenous Americans were enslaved. So were some whites. Do their descendants get reparations, as well? If not, the policy is racist because it is based strictly on skin color.
No Sharon I am not kidding. I've read that there is a caste system among African Americans and that lighter is "better". It's impossible for me to understand that. In India there is a caste system into which you are born and can never escape. I also don't understand that. It seems to me if you and I don't think too highly of those who engage in it. What do I know, right? Thank you for your reply and the graphic.
