Should Secret Service protection be automatic for ALL POLS who are people of color or of non-Christian faiths?

African Americans, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, anyone who is isn't provably BRIGHT WHITE?

It seems what you look like, what you say, what you believe is under attack by the numnit wingnuts who have definite ideas about what is right  and if they don't like you well then tough bananas. They squish you.

So how much would that cost? How many safe bright whites are there who are safe and sound  because they are the right color the right political party the right religion?

    I don't think there should be Secret Service protection for ANY politician.
    They should be subject to the same risk of violence as the average American.
    In fact, I believe all politicians should be required to actually live/work in the lowest economic area in their district, without bodyguards.
    Maybe then they would have incentive to actually improve the daily lives of people living in their districts.

    The risk of violence is enhanced with exposure and publicity Walt...especiall for those who speak up and out. You and I are nobodies. No high profile. No one notices us as we walk down the street. Of course I am ASSUMING a great deal here. You may be a famous person. Assuming you aren't I think we're relatively safe. But there are some newbie pols who are of different faiths and have already been targeted verbally with threats. It is they to whom I refer. There are plenty of whackadoodle racists out there with loaded guns just waiting for the dog whistle signal from little donny dingbat to "make america great again". We all know what that means. I don't know who will be murdered first but surely someone will. Thank you for your thoughtful reply and Happy Friday to thy! :)

    The Secret Service (and the FBI) have admitted they can not prevent an assassination by someone willing to "do whatever it takes"  (EG: Self sacrifice).

    Given the number of assaults against general citizens daily ... I wager the chance of a "nobody" being assaulted is higher than that of a politician or celebrity.  Just because those types are in the public eye, and have more people watching them.

    Secret Service protection is available to all political employees who are in need of it. 

    While she does not meet the criteria in the question, WH Press Sec Sarah Huckabee Sanders received enough threats of violence to require such protection. The only WH press sec to need it.  So there are plenty of left-wing wackadoodles out there as well.

    Once again you are wrong/incorrect. Secret Service stick with the person they protect 24/7. They go EVERYWHERE together. The police do not go everywhere you go..stick by your side like glue..to protect you. Thank you for your reply. Police and Secret Service are not interchangeable.
