I don't know if it is ANGER or FEAR OF THE OTHER that is most important to the donny d base but both are his platform. The norm?

Is ANGER and FEAR the basis of all support for all everyones everywhere all the time? Anger and fear m'dear. How much will you buy today? Hey as long as y'all are happy as clams at high tide who am I to say whether it's good or un? Get a lot of rest.  Take your vitamins. Think good thoughts. This too shall pass. We shall overcome. Kumbayah. Etcetera. Everyone says so. No collusion.

Anger, mixed with the loyalty of protecting the one who has caused the anger.

Loyalty and love.  Misplaced loyalty and the idea of LOVE that these people have is more like HYSTERIA.

I have no idea what the base did before TTCF took center stage. Whom did it idolize revere worship? Maybe it (the base) was just waiting waiting waiting waiting for the beloved to appear. VOILA. Meet the beloved! Different strokes for different folks. I guess the beloved figgered the base out and knew just exactly precisely how to rile them pander to them excite them anger them by demonizing "the other" and make them oh so fearful terrified frightened of everyone he sez is dangerous! They lapped it up and are bloated to excess on it. They like it. He like it. Evryboddy like it bigly. SIGH. So here we are. BIGLY SIGH. Thank you for your reply Sharon and the graphic. I'd just add "GUYS WITH GUNS" "GUYS COLORED WHITE" "GUYS WHO HATE GREAT" "GUYS WHO SEXUALLY ASSAULT WOMEN" "GUYS WHO KISS HIS A**". This post was edited by RosieG at March 9, 2019 3:21 AM MST

    It's not just Trump's base.
I've pointed out that both major political parties have been using fear and anger to push divisiveness for decades.
Trump is merely the latest consequence of their tactics.

They are reaping what they have sown.

True. That is what is so confusing at this time. This has been building. AND BUILDING and each side is pointing to the other side's past boo boos.

But THIS GUY?  He has gone so far OVER the TOP that there is NO comparison.  Not in any manner that we can draw upon and use as an example of how to proceed.  This makes Watergate look so tame by comparison and at the time, that was MAJOR news that we study to this day.

I don't really find it confusing.
It's like a volcano ... slowly building up pressure, though there is little or no sign of movement on the surface ... until BOOM!!

Or a tire.  It slowly wears down, and you don't realize how much pressure is there - until it suddenly blows out while driving down the road at 70mph, and causes a massive pile up.

Either way, if someone is aware of the building pressure under the surface, they can see where it's leading - even if they can't predict exactly when.

Fear of losing Medicare/Social Security, was a big one for decades.  And then senior citizens being forced to live on the streets.
Yet, there hasn't been an instance where the Republicans have done away with Medicare/Social Security when they had control of the federal government.

They have also been pushing the fear/anger of class and ethnic divisions.

Until now. You do know that liddle donny dingbat..to offset his obscene $1.5 TRILLION tax cut (welfare for the obscenely wealthy) will cut $2.7 TRILLION from the domestic budget across the board?. Nothing will be off limits .This INCLUDES social security, MEDICARE, MEDICAID. Surely you are on top of this are you not?  You may be rich as Midas Walt. We are not. We RELY on our social security. Luckily I got cancer at age 70 so Medicare SAVED MY LIFE . We are fortunate that we don't have to rely on MEDICAID. Some are not so fortunate. Republicans have ALWAYS HATED social welfare programs unless it benefits which the $1.5 TRILLION tax cut. They were all gung ho and jolly good with that! I have no idea where you are coming from with this. I am shocked. SIGH. Thank you for your reply.

Personally ... I have never understood why people think it's up to the President to propose a budget.
I don't see that in the Constitution.
Unless it's an "implied" power of the Chief Executive to set the budgets of all agencies.  Which would be a full time job in itself.

Anyway, I don't see it happening even if the Republicans still controlled Congress.
It's the well-known "third rail" ... touch it and die.

We will find out. Little donny d lives for this. He doesn't get his $5.7 billion so he adds another  3 billion to it and sticks out his liddle mididle finger. He is a piece of work. Nothing I would buy or accept as free or take if they paid me any fee. Thank you for your reply Walt!  :)
