It's gotta be lack of self-esteem. Lack of confidence. A fear that they don't have "the right stuff". They can't compete. They can't achieve. They are average.
Well the truth is we are all average. Different strengths different weaknesses to be sure. But AVERAGE nevertheless. Now some refuse to admit they are average or less than. All you ever hear from them is "see how much better I am than you are?" They show up to tell you that or they don't show up at all. Delusion. What is it about humans that makes their being AVERAGE so abhorrent?
