A word to the wise is sufficient. Your concern for the straights out here is truly touching. I haven't lost anything in Brunei and I don't think there will be a mass exodus of the gays among us to spend vacation time there. Since they've made their thoughts on the subject clear, I don't expect to see a lot of folks from Brunei on the streets of the the U.S. given our position on sexual perversion or infidelity.
Ever read Shirley Jackson's The Lottery? I think there are honor killings when a woman is raped and embarrasses the men in her family they stone her to death. Or did. Or would like to. Men are mean SOB's worldwide. Maybe less so in the USA but hey hey hey we got Dondon as their saviour. Who knows how he will reconfigure them in his own image?
Hmmm ... wonder what they define as "adultery". I mean, some of these Muslim nations still blame women for being raped. So if a married woman in Brunei is raped - is she going to be stoned to death for adultery?
When you are operating at this low level of thought, OF COURSE that is how they would respond.
I think if you are stoning people to death, you probably do not have some sophisticated court room drama beforehand. I don't think these morons are being filmed for CNN. I think they have the mentality of a MOB and MOBS want instant gratification without a thought of why they are rioting past the idea that it feels good to yell like you are watching a football game to get out the aggression.
No. Those are HONOR killings Walt. When a woman is raped she dishonors the men in her family and so they gather together and stone her to death. SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)
