What Can Americans Still Do WITHOUT Getting Government Permission?

Why does the rest of the world laugh at Americans whenever we prattle on about 'freedom'?  Is it possible they know something we don't?   What can we still do in America that doesn't require some form of government permission?

Can we own a car, drive or travel by public conveyance? No.

Can we own a house or land and use it as we see fit while harming none? No.

Can we ply a trade? No.

Can we grow, produce or prepare foodstuffs for public consumption? No.

Can we open a bank account? No.

Can we own a gun? No.

Can we seek healthcare? No.

Can we get a job? No.

So in what ways are we still free?

    Not much.

Because people here still spout off about how we live in "the land of the free" as they dutifully get groped to board a plane and say stupid shit like "if you don't have anything to hide..."

Even if something doesn't expressly require government permission, they can question us, detain us and prevent us from exercising our Constitutionally "protected" unalienable rights indefinitely.  There is a 'secret' court and two little words ("national security") that allow the government to do whatever they please.

In 2007, Privacy International ranked our privacy just above Russia and China.  The Uk is the only western government ranked (barely) below ours.  I am reasonably certain our ranking has fallen even further since then.

When you have no privacy, you are not "free".

    Spot-the-phuck-on!  As usual.

I would note, however, that, for the most part, Americans freely WAIVE their rights to privacy, etc.

    Particularly since 9/11, yes.
