Normally reasonable logically the more despicable a person is revealed to be the more his supporters TURN ON HIM. Except for Dondon. WHY?

Why do they so covet and protect DESPICABLE? Why does it move them to defend protect support and attack on behalf of DESPICABLE? Anyone?
