By employing the same method they used when they stopped all those unwanted bot calls people used to get on their phones.

It's nearly impossible to stop it unless you know exactly how/when it's going to happen before it does.  Just like those  bot calls... you know you're going to get one, but you don't know the number until after they call you.  But by then it's too late.  You can now block that number, but it's of little use as they've already started using a new number.. and called yo again.
Facebook and Google can block/take down these sites, but they'll just pop back up again.  Any algorithm they develop to try to detect them will be quickly bypassed by avoiding the "key words" the algorithm uses.  Charging customers for using their sites might cut down a bit, but it won't eliminate it.  It'll only serve to decrease usage by legitimate customers.

So these hotshots created sites that facilitate enable hate groups to proliferate promulgate infiltrate agitate and spread hate. Swell. They created these monsters. What are they going to do to make mends and FIX IT? Are you saying it is not gonna be easy or that it's gonna be impossible Shuhak? I don't belong to anything but Answermug internet-wise. I wouldn't touch those sites with a ten-foot pole much less join them. Not my cuppa tea. But they hold a fascination for BILLIONS of people. Now I use GOOGLE as my search engine and haven't found any problem. I use it to get info on things in which I am interested. Each day I check out GOOGLE NEWS and YAHOO news to see what's going on in the world. I can understand the FB infiltration but how do they use GOOGLE? Thank you for your reply! :)

GOOGLE and YAHOO both have social sites, as well as search engines.

It's unfortunate that some people have to ruin things for everyone else.  Facebook WAS a good idea when it started, but them some people abused it.  Worse, some people are determined to abuse EVERYTHING - just because they can.  There're people out there whose only goal in life is to abuse social media sites.  Facebook was intended to be a fun site where people from all over the world could come and get to know each other.     Youtube (part of Google) was supposed to be a place where people could share videos, information, and such.  These were good ideas ... until the lowlifes and sleazeballs abused abused them.  What sane adult  would even think of using Youtube to seduce children?  What rational person would use Facebook to live post them performing sodomy or murder?

I came from a site called 'The Experience Project' (that's where I met my friend in Poland).  Unfortunately, it became so infested with trolls that they had to shut it down.   What was supposed to be a good friendly site was ruined by lowlifes determined to cause trouble.    It's hard to weed out undesirables on sites.  As fast as they find a way to block these undesirables, the undesirables find a way around it.  Even the sites that charge for "membership" get infested with trolls and undesirables.

I have heard of that site Shuhak. My only other experience with an internet social site as I told you before was Answerbag. I am not a joiner so I would never have sought any of them out. I have heard of other sites being similarly infected with human vermin. It is a puzzle to me that many people get off on being sleazy vicious venal vile. They bond together because who else can stand to have them around? I wonder are they all the misfits in society who have been rejected who act out? I'm gonna ask. Thank you for your reply! :)

Anonymity.  A sleaze is a sleaze whether they're online or in real life.  However, when on is online they can hide their identity.  If you saw someone walking down the street who was clean cut and wearing a suit and tie, you'd probably assume they were a decent person (just by looks).  However, in reality they may be far from that.  A lot of people put on masks when they're out in the public.  Social network sites are a place where people can take off those masks and yet still remain anonymous.

They can also sell you a line of bull a mile long. Once upon time at Answerbag there were at  least two horrible people who were unmasked as charlatans and devils.. They lied their way through day by day and set up a story of sadness and despair..all untrue. Two different people. Two different cons. So while you can con in real life face to face it's way way way easier to con in cyberspace because there is no one around to call you on it. People are  lousy all over. People are also kind and good all over. It's a crap shoot completely which ones you meet and which ones you never will. Just be sure whatever you gamble of yourself you can afford to lose. I like the sound of that. I'm gonna ask.Thank you for your reply Shuhak!  :)

    Artificial Intelligence.
VERY complicated algorithms, that allow software to learn as it does it's job.
So you start with simple, obvious sites ... and the AI learns what they have in common and expands it's own parameters.

Of course, it will be awhile before AI understands sarcasm or parody.
So those will likely be blocked, and the person will have to request a moderator to review their material ... like YouTube does with some content.

Can we figure out something that will actually solve the problem and not wish for some future event when the SH*tstorm is hitting the fan as we speak?

There is nothing that will EVER solve the issue.
Until the entire human species is wiped out, there will always be people who hate others not like them.
The only people who want Facebook/Google/YouTube/etc to review every post before it is allowed to upload, are people who have no clue the number of social media users there are.

There is no way Facebook could employee enough people to check all the posts.
Facebook alone had over 2.3 billion users, in the 4th quarter of 2018.
They had over 1 billion users who had posted within 30 days.
If those people only posted once per day ... that would still require checking over 33 million posts/day.
If Facebook were to hire people to check 1 post/minute ... based on an 8 hour/day ... they would have to employ over 68,000 people just to check posts.

THAT is why they need to rely on AI.

And that's just one social media site.

I only have me to go by Walt. I belong to one internet social site. This one. I have no interest in spreading myself around here there and everywhere. I don't get those who do. Of course I gotta ask. But if you do belong to a bundle of them do you have a favorite and why do you need so many outlets? That question is very push and I do not require nor expect a reply. I wonder if I can use this to compare to those who can't be faithful to one mate?  I'm gonna do it and see what happens! Thank you for your reply.
