    Self flaggalation is a way to see hell that is for sure.

    I guess these idiots thought that if you could endure that kind of pain, you were immune to any pain at all and that would gain you access to bliss.

    All it gains is access to insanity.  

    If you want to reach God, and you want to focus, there are a lot more humane ways to do it than desecrate your body for Jesus.  I don't think that was the WAY the TRUTH and the Cross we need to bear.  We are NOT Jesus nor do we have the wherewithall to endure what he did.
