The longer you spend on doing what you don't like/dislike the less time you have to spend on doing what you do like. No-brainer right?

So then why would folks go out of their way to be where they are not happy to be when they don't have to be there at all? What is the underlying drive that forces them to repeatedly do that? Don't they recognize that they are completely in charge of where they go and what they do on their own time?  Are they drawn by some mysterious force to be where they are most unhappy? Are some folks so wired they are only ever happy when they are unhappy? Doesn't make sense does it?
