To offset the despot dictator nationalist racist populist authoritarian autocrat will the prez pendulum swing to bring a SOCIALIST?

NO ONE of SANE MIND wants again what we have right now. Shake it off. Get the exact opposite you can think of because two administrations in a row of this will be an historic tragedy of enormous proportions. Unless of course the current resident sees fit to blow us all up. If he can't have the presidency no one can. He will not leave the stage with grace and dignity. He will blow it up first and everyone around it. Right?

    Isn't that usually how it is?  People get fed up with the way democrats run things so they swing over to republicans.  Then when republicans screw things up, they switch back to democrats.  However, the more polarized we become, the further the pendulum swings.  Now they are starting to think that a socialist form of government (Bernie?) might be better.  Yet if it does go there, people will want capitalism back.  Unfortunately, the greater the pendulum swings, the closer it comes to its far sides - Democracy and Fascism.

    Is the arc of a pendulum always the same Shuhak? If were able to narrow the length of the swing and reduce or minimize its extremes wouldn't it be a better thing? Thank you for your reply and Happy Monday to you!:)
