Do you have an "I don't give a sh**" button you figuratively push when things are getting to be more than you can bear?

I have an ex-husband who had one and told me about it. I never found a need to look for mine. Does everyone have the same button available or only a few? Do you?

In the SPIRICHUAL world, we call that surrendering.  But there is a fine line between surrender and just saying screw it.

If you are up against a wall and you feel you have done all you can, surrernder to whatever comes next is probably the best idea.  Being open to a new answer and a new manner of dealing with an obstacle is probably the best idea.

However, letting go and letting God, so to speak, is not the same as never trying at all, saying "why bother?" or just letting other people do all the work and pick up your slack because of laziness.

    That is different.

    Everyone has such a button.

We all have to push that button a few times in our lives.  Unfortunately, many people overuse their button, because it's easier to constantly press it than learning to deal.

What I've always done when I cahn't stend it any longer is withdraw. I just hide inside me for however long it takes. Pull back. Shut the drapes. Tune out. Relax. Refresh Rejuvenate. Then I come back out and deal. You are so very right about it Shuhak. It's so much easier and SAFER and lot more no-brainer to not deal. You have to eventually so you might as well do it up front. Sometimes though you just aren't up to it. SIGH. Thank you for your reply! :)
