At what stage of growth do we finally realize the world does not revolve around us? That we are really insignificant?

All the things which have been recorded that preceded us and all that things that occurred for which there were no recordings and all the things there will be futurely. Do you have any idea of the enormity of the universe we inhabit? Ever read up just a little bit about it?
