We reach for a drink or a "fix" (I don't do drugs so I don't know what it's called) or a pill. Just to not have to worry or be afraid or think. It is always temporary and therefore must be repeated. Instead of solving the problem we take a shortcut and reach for something to take away the pain...figurative or literal. How does that serve us well? What does it do to us when rather than work something out now we put it off till later which never arrives?
