The word "lemmings" comes to mind---even though the common assumption of their mass suicides may be a myth. (Yes, they jump off cliffs in the course of their migrations, but it may be the migration itself that is so dangerous that the population precipitates drastically afterward.)
Good point! LOL I tried to post a comment with that picture, but it was SO HUGE (as Donnie would say) that there was no room in the frame. Anyway, there was no need. The words were already said by you and the picture underscores just how vivid this reality actually is.
Mindless followers. Yes. I think that's a very valid assessment. No need to engage the brain. Just follow the leader. Sigh. Pied Piper comes to mind. His sweet playing drew the children to follow him out of town and away from their parents to who knows where? Their death? That was because they tried to stiff him and so he exacted a sweet revenge. I don't see that having the freedom of self-determination is at all "evil". Nor do I see that being responsible for our own actions is "evil" either. And I am not one who views being able to love and worship God as "evil". Or views working hard and becoming successful as "evil". Nor do I see myself as evil when I help my neighbor. Or when I love my country and its greatest institutions.
